About us
The association Föreningen Konstsamfundet rf was founded in 1940 by Mr. Amos Anderson, businessman and cultural patron. In his will, the association Konstsamfundet was regarded as his only legatee.
In the autumn of 2025, the association decided to change its name into Amos Anderson Fund (registered name: Amos Andersons fond rf).
Amos Andersons Fund fulfills its purpose by operating the Amos Rex art museum in the Helsinki city center. According to the will and wish of our founder Amos Anderson, the Amos Anderson Fund also operates the Söderlångvik museum in Amos Anderson’s former summer residence in Dragsfjärd, Southwest Finland.
Amos Anderson Fund’s main purposes, according to the statutes, are to support arts and different fields of culture for the Swedish speaking Finns in our society. We are providing grants for fine arts, publications, music and theater. Supporting vocational education and training, as well as the teaching of applied sciences, is likewise one of the main tasks.
Amos Andersons Fund is also supporting newspapers and magazines published in Swedish. All grants applications are to be written in Swedish, and applied through the electronical application system. The application periods for the public grants are in February and September.
